Description
Tenax Epoxart Kit 3:1 — Slow-Hardening Transparent Epoxy System for Resining & Netting
Tenax Epoxart Kit 3:1 is a two-component, low-viscosity transparent epoxy system for resining and fiberglass netting of natural stone, quartz and ceramic slabs. It is made for work that needs high transparency in the cracks of the material, high penetration and a slow hardening time, and for casting small masses of resin. It offers excellent stability in sunlight and good reactivity to cold. The resin (Part A, 1 kg / 2.2 lb) and the hardener (Part B, 0.3 kg / 0.66 lb) only work together — order the Set, or one of each part, and mix 3 parts A to 1 part B by weight.
Features
- Used as a set: one Part A (resin) + one Part B (hardener) — order the Set, or the single parts for refills; neither part works alone
- Low viscosity — Part A 450–650 cps, Part B 30–60 cps at 77°F (25°C) — for high penetration
- High transparency; clear and shiny after cure
- Slow hardening: gel time 150–180 minutes at 77°F (25°C), 100 g of resin plus hardener — suited to netting and small masses of resin
- Excellent stability in sunlight — low solar yellowing in a 3-year Xenon test (ISO 11341); indoor and outdoor
- Good reactivity to cold
- Medium hardness after cure (Shore D 78–80); easily polished
- Ready to cut and polish after 24–48 hours at 77–95°F (25–35°C), or 48–72 hours at 59–77°F (15–25°C)
- Tintable with Tenax Universal coloring pastes; for natural stone, quartz and ceramics
| Part No. | Component | Net Contents |

| EPOXARTKIT3TO1SET | Set — Part A + Part B | 1 kg + 0.3 kg (2.2 lb + 0.66 lb) |
| EPOXARTKIT3TO1 | Part A — Resin | 1 kg (2.2 lb) |
| EPOXARTKIT3TO1B | Part B — Hardener | 0.3 kg (0.66 lb) |
Epoxart is used as a set. Order the Set (Part A + Part B), or Part A and Part B on their own for refills. At 3:1 by weight, one 0.3 kg Part B mixes with 0.9 kg of Part A.
- Make sure the stone is clean and dry. On a surface you have not treated before, test the effect and adhesion on a sample or a hidden corner first.
- Work at 59°F (15°C) or warmer — the minimum reaction temperature.
- Weigh the two parts — do not measure by volume: 3 parts Part A (resin) to 1 part Part B (hardener), using clean scales and tools.
- To tint, add Tenax Universal coloring paste or pigment before mixing in Part B.
- Mix vigorously with clean tools in a plastic container that resists corrosive liquids — never PVC. Keep the products away from copper, brass or similar alloys.
- Apply for resining, fiberglass netting or crack repair. 100 g of resin plus hardener gels in 150–180 min at 77°F (25°C).
- Let it cure: tack-free in 5–6 hours at 77°F (25°C); cut and polish after 24–48 hours at 77–95°F (25–35°C) or 48–72 hours at 59–77°F (15–25°C).
- Clean tools with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or butyl acetate. Close both containers with their original caps and avoid prolonged contact with air.

Do I need both Part A and Part B?
Yes. Part A is the resin and Part B is the hardener; the resin does not cure without the hardener. Choose the Set to get both, or add Part A and Part B to your order separately.
Can I mix it by volume?
No. Tenax gives the ratio by weight: 3 parts Part A (resin) to 1 part Part B (hardener). Weigh both parts on clean scales. If you use an automatic doser, check its accuracy daily.
How long before the mix gels?
100 g of resin plus hardener gels in 150–180 minutes at 77°F (25°C).
When can I cut or polish the stone?
After 24–48 hours at 77–95°F (25–35°C), or after 48–72 hours at 59–77°F (15–25°C). Tenax gives these as the minimum times for cutting and polishing.
Can I tint it?
Yes. Add Tenax Universal coloring paste or pigment before mixing in Part B.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. Tenax rates it for indoor and outdoor use with excellent stability in sunlight; solar yellowing in a 3-year Xenon test is low.
Can I use it in a cold shop?
Epoxart 3:1 has good reactivity to cold, but its minimum reaction temperature is still 59°F (15°C), so work and cure at that temperature or above. Do not let the resin freeze — keep it above 32°F (0°C).
What is the difference between Epoxart 3:1 and Epoxart 2:1?
Epoxart 3:1 gels in 150–180 minutes, has an even lower viscosity and high penetration, gives higher transparency and lower solar yellowing, and suits slow-hardening work and small masses of resin; it is ready to cut and polish after 24–48 hours at 77–95°F. Epoxart 2:1 gels in 55–75 minutes and is ready after 24 hours at 77–95°F; it suits micro-crack work, deepening the tone of the stone and lamination.
Can wet processing discolor the resin?
Mold and microorganisms can change the color during wet processing. Tenax advises checking the bacterial load of the stone and the processing water in advance and treating them with a suitable bactericide.
How do I clean my tools?
Use a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or butyl acetate.
