MB Stone Care ZERO+ Marble Polishing Powder
MB ZERO+ is a professional marble polishing powder that removes etch marks, water spots and light scratches while restoring gloss to the stone. It is formulated without oxalic acid and is rated by the manufacturer for polished serpentines and sensitive white and black marbles. The powder is worked wet, or wet to dry, with a hog's hair or white pad on a variable-speed polisher or floor machine. Coverage runs 125 to 200 square feet per pound, and the powder is sold by weight in 1, 2, 8 and 25 lb sizes.

- Confirm the stone is ready to polish. Results depend on stone type and condition, and abrasives or diamond refinishing may be required first.
- Clean the surface to be polished free of debris, sand and dirt, and mask any adjacent surfaces that splatter could damage.
- Complete the honing process to the highest clarity possible before polishing — the final gloss can only be as clear as the honed surface beneath it.
- Countertops: work an area of roughly 2 to 3 square feet at a time and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of MB ZERO+ in a circular pattern slightly smaller than the polishing pad.
- Add enough water from a spray bottle to soak the powder into a paste.
- Fit a white polishing pad to a right-angle grinder or polisher — variable speed is required — set the speed low, place the pad on top of the powder mixture, and run about one minute per square foot under even, light pressure.
- Floors: target 10 to 12 square feet, sprinkle 1 tablespoon in the center in a circular pattern slightly smaller than the floor machine, wet the powder, and run the machine 3 to 4 minutes per 10 to 12 square feet.
- Check the result and repeat if needed; run another minute for more luster before moving to the next area.
- For edges, sinks, faucets, tub surrounds and tight spaces, cut the white pad a half inch larger than the pad driver so the pad protects the fixture.
- Wear latex gloves and a dust mask during use, and test on a small inconspicuous area before full application.

Does MB ZERO+ contain oxalic acid?
No. MB ZERO+ is formulated without oxalic acid.
Do I need a polishing machine, or can I use a cloth?
A machine is required. The powder is designed to be used with a polishing or floor machine fitted with a hog's hair or white pad, driven at proper speed and power. A soft cloth will not produce the polish.
Which pads should I use?
A white polishing pad or a hog's hair pad. Diamond abrasive pads give the best surface preparation before polishing, but they are not recommended for homeowners or untrained users.
Do I need professional experience to use it?
Training matters. Some jobs can be done as a do-it-yourself project, but the manufacturer recommends contacting them before using MB ZERO+ without prior polishing experience.
What protective equipment should I wear?
Latex gloves and a dust mask, to protect your hands and avoid breathing airborne dust. Masking the work area also prevents damage to surrounding surfaces and reduces cleanup.
Will the polished surface be slippery?
Polished marble can be slick when dusty or wet, but a dry, well-maintained polished surface should not be excessively slippery. Keeping a marble floor dry lowers the risk.
What is the difference between polished and honed marble?
Polished marble has high gloss and high depth of clarity. A honed finish is a more muted satin or matte look with little to no reflection, is less slick underfoot, and conceals etching better — while polished marble is less porous and needs sealer less often.
Do I need to seal the marble after polishing?
Yes, for optimum protection. MB-24 Plus Barrier is the impregnating sealer recommended for home use after polishing.
How should I clean the surface between treatments?
Avoid harsh chemicals, which can etch or strip the polish and leave dull spots. Use a pH-neutral cleaner such as MB-5 Stone & More for spills and everyday dirt.
