Akemi Travertine Filler Light Ivory — Knife-Grade Polyester Stone Filler
AKEMI Travertine Filler in Light Ivory (AKEMI Marmorkitt 1000 S-Soft) is a professional, two-component, knife-grade polyester filler for filling, patching, and mending natural stone. Its stiff, non-sag consistency holds on both vertical and horizontal surfaces without slumping, while the softer, more pliable S-Soft grade is easy to model into corners, edges, and larger voids. Formulated for travertine and light-colored stone, the Light Ivory tint blends into the surface, and the filler can be further color-matched with AKEMI polyester color pastes. Once mixed with its cream hardener it cures fast — ready to sand, mill, drill, or polish within minutes — and the cured fill resists water, gasoline, and mineral oils.

Recommended for filling, patching & mending:

Please note: for interior use. Adhesion on fresh, alkaline substrates (e.g. new concrete) is only moderate, and fills that are frequently exposed to moisture or frost are not durable. Cured polyester filler has a tendency to yellow over time.
- Make sure the substrate is clean, completely dry, and slightly roughened.
- If a closer color match is needed, tint the filler with up to 5% AKEMI polyester color paste.
- Mix 1–4% white BPO hardener paste (2–3% typical) thoroughly into the filler until the color is uniform. Use less hardener when filling large voids or modeling corners and edges.
- The mixture stays workable for approx. 3–10 minutes at 68°F (20°C), depending on the amount of hardener and the temperature. Keep fill layers thin (under 1/16 in / 2 mm).
- After a further approx. 10–20 minutes, the fill can be sanded, polished, milled, drilled, or moved. Warmth speeds the cure; cold slows it.
- Clean tools with AKEMI Nitro-thinner before the filler cures. Cured filler can only be removed mechanically or with high heat, not with solvents.
- Flammable liquid and vapor (contains styrene) — flash point approx. 90°F (32°C). Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame; no smoking.
- Causes skin irritation and serious eye irritation, and may cause an allergic skin reaction.
- Suspected of damaging the unborn child; may cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure.
- Do not breathe vapors; provide good ventilation and local extraction during mixing and curing.
- Industrial chemical product — wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
