Superior GOLD GV-5 Knife Grade
Superior GOLD GV-5 Knife Grade is a knife-grade stone adhesive manufactured by Superior Stone Products for mitering, seaming, laminating, rodding, filling and chip repair on natural stone and engineered surfaces. It bonds granite, marble, slate, quartzite, sandstone and onyx, as well as quartz surfaces (such as Caesarstone, Silestone and Cambria), solid surfaces (such as Corian, Formica and Wilsonart) and sintered/ultra-compact surfaces (such as Neolith and Dekton). The adhesive is light, translucent and pearlescent in its uncured color, which keeps joints inconspicuous on light and white stone, and it can be tinted with a matching Superior coloring paste when a different joint color is needed. It cures with a BPO (benzoyl peroxide) paste hardener and is styrene-free, for use indoors or outdoors. Available in Quart, Gallon and 5-Gallon sizes.
Features
- Knife-grade (thick, non-sag) consistency for vertical seams and edge laminations
- Cures with 1%–2% BPO paste hardener by volume
- Gel time 3–5 minutes; cure time under 20 minutes at room temperature
- Styrene-free formulation; suitable for indoor and outdoor use
- Shelf life of 1 year from manufacture
- Light, translucent/pearlescent color for low-visibility joints on light stone; can be tinted with Superior coloring paste
- Bonds natural stone, quartz surfaces, solid surfaces and sintered/ultra-compact surfaces

- Clean and dry the bonding or repair area; remove dust, oil and loose debris.
- If a tinted joint is needed, blend in Superior coloring paste before adding the hardener.
- Add 1%–2% BPO paste hardener and mix thoroughly; gel time runs 3–5 minutes, so work in small batches.
- Apply with a knife or spatula — the knife-grade consistency holds its shape on vertical seams and in deep voids without sagging.
- Allow to cure (typically under 20 minutes at room temperature) before further handling.
- Trim, sand and polish the cured joint as needed.
- Follow the manufacturer's safety data sheet and wear appropriate PPE when mixing and applying the hardener.
