This unique shroud is designed to remove dust when using the pull-to-cut method. It can be used easily with minimal alterations and fits on most popular 4-1/2", 5" and 6" high-speed angle grinders. Pair it with a HEPA vacuum for a virtually dust-free application.

- Confirm your angle grinder is compatible (4-1/2", 5" or 6" high-speed) and powered off / unplugged.
- Install the stainless steel or plastic collar onto the grinder spindle housing as shown in the manual.
- Attach the safety guard and dust cover, securing all fasteners per the included schematic.
- Connect the 1" vacuum hose to the shroud port and to a HEPA vacuum.
- Mount a dry-cutting diamond blade (5" max for DBC5KIT, 6" max for DBC6KIT) and verify free rotation before powering on.
- Start the HEPA vacuum first, then start the grinder and use a pull-to-cut motion for dust-controlled cutting.

What is the maximum blade size I can use with the Dust Shroud Kit 5"?
Although you can install the Dust Shroud Kit 5" on a 6" angle grinder, the maximum blade diameter is 5".
Can I use the Dust Shroud Kit with my Shop-Vac or other HEPA vacuum?
Alpha recommends a high-end HEPA vacuum. Diamond-blade dust is very fine and tends to clog inexpensive vacuums quickly.

Am I in compliance with OSHA Table 1?
Officially no — the 1" diameter dust hose is not listed under OSHA Table 1. In practice CFM of the HEPA vacuum is the key factor, and the 1" hose provides good suction and maneuverability.
How do I know if the Dust Shroud Kit fits my grinder?

Which HEPA vacuum do you recommend?
