Thread the bit onto a 5/8"-11 angle grinder. Hand-tighten only - never wrench-tighten.
For wet drilling, supply water continuously to the cut zone (G-Tape reservoir or hose feed).
Use a pilot carbide bit or jig to stabilize hand-held starts on smooth surfaces.
Maintain steady pressure - let the diamonds cut. Avoid percussion / hammering, which destroys the diamond grit.
Pull the bit back every inch of depth to flush slurry and cool the segments.
Maximum drilling depth per bit is 4". Use the Alpha Core Bit Extender for deeper holes.
Yes. Porcelain pavers and most hardscape stone can be drilled dry with the DLB-series bits. The WLB 3/8" and 1/2" are wet-only.
Why does my bit lose its bite quickly?
Most often percussion or hammering - these destroy the diamond grit. Let the bit cut under steady pressure, and use water on deep applications to flush swarf.
How deep can I drill with one bit?
4" is the maximum drilling depth. Use the Alpha Core Bit Extender for deeper holes.
Do I need a pilot bit for hand-held work?
Yes - a carbide pilot bit or drilling jig stabilizes the start on smooth surfaces and prevents walking.
Will these work on my angle grinder?
Any standard high-speed grinder with a 5/8"-11 spindle. Stay at or below the listed Max RPM (12,000 for under 2", 8,400 for 2-1/2"-4").
