This flat steel countertop support brace measures 15 inches long, 2.5 inches wide and 1/4 inch thick. It mounts flush beneath a stone or wood overhang before the countertop is set in place, so the overhang rests directly on top of the brace and the hardware stays hidden from view. The low, flat profile keeps knee and seating clearance open at islands, peninsulas and bar overhangs where a corbel-style bracket would get in the way.
