Description
Alpha® Beveling Auxiliary Base BAB1590 — 15°~90° Precision Edge Polishing Adapter (5/8"-11)
The Alpha® Beveling Auxiliary Base turns any 5/8"-11 stone polisher or variable-speed grinder into a precision edge-polishing tool. With two interchangeable clamping bases it grinds and polishes everything from a 15° Hollywood bevel through a 45° mitered edge and on through a straight 90° edge — ideal for seamless countertop installs and large-format porcelain miter work. The unit ships with a universal adapter, both clamping bases, a 10 ft (3 m) water hose with valve and the wrenches needed to set up in minutes. Compatible with granite, quartzite, engineered stone/quartz, marble, limestone, porcelain, crystallized glass and concrete slab.

- Thread the universal adapter onto the 5/8"-11 spindle of your polisher or variable-speed grinder.
- Clip the 15°~45° clamping base for bevel work, or the 90° base for straight-edge polishing.
- Connect the supplied 10 ft (3 m) water hose to a clean water source and open the valve.
- For seamless joints set the straight-edge base roughly 5-1/4" back from the slab edge (verify with your abrasive height).
- Start with a vacuum-brazed diamond wheel (TSV30060M) on coarse grinding, then move to Alpha Turboshine Rigid wheels for polishing.
- Use machine weight only at #100 through #500 to avoid creating a convex face; medium pressure is acceptable from #1000 up on harder stones.
- Run wet only — never operate the base dry; precision parts must stay clean and dust-free.
- Keep no-load RPM at or below 4,000 RPM when using the Alpha Turboshine system.

What angles can I polish with the BAB1590?
Anywhere from a 15° Hollywood bevel through a 45° mitered edge using the 15°~45° clamp, and a full 90° straight edge using the second clamp.
What spindle does this fit?
BAB1590 fits a 5/8"-11 spindle. For M14-2 polishers Alpha offers the BAB1590-M14 (separate listing).
What wheels can I use on it?
It is built around 3" diameter wheels with a maximum 4" pad. Alpha Turboshine Rigid resin wheels are the recommended polishing line, and the TSV30060M vacuum-brazed wheel is the recommended grinder.
Can I run it dry?
No. The Beveling Auxiliary Base has precision sliding parts that must stay clean — operate wet only with the supplied water hose connected.
What is the max RPM?
When using the Alpha Turboshine wheel system keep no-load RPM at or below 4,000. Always confirm against your specific abrasive’s rating.
How is this different from the Alpha Seam Phantom?
The Beveling Auxiliary Base retrofits onto a polisher you already own and handles both square and beveled edges. The Seam Phantom ships as a sold-together polisher-plus-jig package, costs more and targets square seams only.
What pressure should I apply?
Machine weight only at #100–#500 grits to avoid producing a convex face. Medium pressure is acceptable on harder stones from #1000 grit up.
What materials is it approved for?
Granite, quartzite, engineered stone/quartz, marble, limestone, porcelain, crystallized glass and concrete slab.
