Description

Alpha Silencer III 16" Porcelain Bridge Saw Blade — Marmo

The Alpha Silencer III 16" porcelain bridge saw blade delivers the quietest, smoothest, and longest-lasting cut in its class. Diamond segments are matrix-tuned for porcelain slabs, large-format ceramic tile, and crystallized glass, and the steel core is laser-welded with Alpha's patented noise-dampening core that reduces cutting noise by up to 50% versus conventional bridge-saw blades. This variant is engineered for Marmo/MarmoElettromeccanica bridge saws.

Key Features

  • Silencer III noise-dampening laser-welded steel core — up to 50% quieter cuts

  1. Verify your bridge saw spindle speed does not exceed the blade's maximum RPM rating.
  2. Mount the blade on the saw arbor (60mm Marmo arbor with drive pin); confirm the rotation arrow matches the spindle direction.
  3. Tighten the arbor flange to manufacturer torque spec; never use impact tools on the flange nut.
  4. Engage water cooling at a steady 1.5–2 GPM flow on both sides of the blade BEFORE the cut.
  5. Begin the cut at reduced feed and let the blade self-find its cutting depth.
  6. Recommended feed rate for porcelain: start at 30 in/min and adjust by feel.
  7. After cutting, let the blade spin out under water for 10–15 seconds to flush slurry.

This blade is engineered for Marmo/MarmoElettromeccanica bridge saws. The 60mm Marmo arbor with drive pin configuration fits any compatible bridge saw spindle. For wet cutting of porcelain slabs, large-format ceramic tile, and crystallized glass only. Do not use on dry cutters, angle grinders, or handheld saws.

Q: Why is it called Silencer III?
A: Alpha's 3rd-generation noise-dampening core uses a sandwich-laminated steel construction that absorbs cutting vibration and reduces audible noise by up to 50% compared to a conventional one-piece steel blade core.
Q: Can I use this on materials other than porcelain?
A: This blade's diamond matrix is tuned for porcelain slabs, large-format ceramic tile, and crystallized glass. Cutting other materials will work but will shorten blade life and reduce edge quality. For other materials, choose the matching Silencer III variant.
Q: Wet cut only?
A: Yes. All Silencer III bridge-saw blades require continuous water flow. Dry cutting will damage the segments and void the warranty.
Q: How long does a Silencer III blade last?
A: Life varies with material density, feed rate, water flow, and operator technique. In typical porcelain production, expect a multi-fold life improvement over standard bridge-saw blades when used at recommended RPM and feed.

Always use wet cutting. Wear ANSI Z87+ safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves. Verify the blade RPM rating exceeds your saw's spindle speed. Inspect the blade before each use for cracks or segment damage.
