Alpha® Sandpaper Discs for Marble & Stone
Alpha® Sandpaper consists of a waterproof hook-and-loop backed material combined with a silicon carbide abrasive — the right pairing for marble and softer natural stone. The discs resist clogging when run wet, extending life, and the hook-and-loop backing makes pad changes fast. Available in 4" and 5" diameters from #80 to #600 grit, plus assortment kits.

- Match the disc diameter to your backer pad and tool — 4" or 5".
- Mount on an Alpha® VSP-320 or AIR-680 polisher for wet use, or a Makita GV5000 sander with an Alpha backer pad for dry use.
- Step through grits in order: #80 → #120 → #240 → #320 → #400 → #500 → #600.
- Run wet for best results — supply water at the disc face for dust control, longer life and a higher-quality finish.
- Apply light, even pressure; let the abrasive do the work.
- Inspect each disc and replace when the silicon carbide is worn smooth.

Which materials work with Alpha® Sandpaper?
Alpha® Sandpaper can be used for marble, onyx, travertine, terrazzo, limestone and ceramic tile. It also polishes glass, metal and wood.
Can I use Alpha® Sandpaper on granite?
No — Alpha does not recommend sandpaper for granite. Use Alpha® Ceramica or Ceramica EX polishing discs for granite instead.
Can it be used dry?
Yes. However, the special advantages of long life, dust control and high-quality finish may be reduced when running dry.
Are the discs reusable?
Yes — discs remain reusable until the silicon carbide is worn through.
Which tools are recommended?
For wet use: Alpha® VSP-320 or AIR-680 polishers. For dry use: Makita GV5000 sander with Alpha backer pads.
What sizes and grits are available?
4" and 5" diameters, grits #80, #120, #240, #320, #400, #500 and #600, plus an Assortment kit containing one of each grit.
