Alpha® Rust Stain Remover (RSR-2000) — Fast-Acting Gel
Alpha® Rust Stain Remover (RSR-2000) is a pre-mixed, fast-acting gel that removes common rust stains from natural stone, concrete, brick, terra cotta, Mexican tile and other hard porous surfaces. The gel chemically reacts with the rust and turns purple as it works — most stains lift in 5 to 10 minutes with a single application. RSR-2000 is non-hazardous and environmentally safe, and its high-consistency gel holds its position on vertical surfaces. Available as a 1.4 oz. trial bottle (RSR-040G) or a 14 oz. tube (RSR-400G) — one tube covers roughly 4 sq ft.

| RSR-040G | 1.4 oz. (40 g) | Trial Bottle | Gel | 749173430060 |

- Confirm the surface is completely DRY — RSR-2000 will not work on wet stone.
- Confirm the stain is rust (RSR-2000 does not work through wax or dye-based discoloration).
- Apply a 1/8" to 1/4" thick coat of gel over the stained area.
- Allow the gel to react for 5 to 10 minutes. It will turn purple as the rust dissolves.
- Wipe the purple residue away with a paper towel.
- Clean the treated area thoroughly with water and dry.
- For deep stains, repeat the application; do not leave the gel on overnight (residue may require hydrogen peroxide to remove).
- On marble, a slight etch may appear at the treated spot due to the acidic reaction — a light re-polish may be needed.

Is there anything else I should be aware of when applying RSR-2000?
On marble, slight etching may appear at the treated spot due to the chemical reaction. Additional re-polishing may be required over the treated area. The product removes rust but not dye coloration from aging.
Does it work on all stone types?
Generally, RSR-2000 works on all natural stones. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
Can I apply RSR-2000 on wet stone?
No. The surface has to be completely dry before applying RSR-2000, otherwise it will not work.
What if RSR-2000 doesn't work?
Check if the stone was previously waxed or sealed — RSR-2000 does not work through a previously treated surface. If the gel doesn't turn purple, the stain isn't rust-based.
Can I use RSR-2000 on walls?
Yes. RSR-2000 is a high-consistency gel which holds its position in vertical applications.
What happens if I leave it on overnight?
Not recommended. A purple residue may develop that requires hydrogen peroxide treatment to remove.
How does RSR-2000 compare to the Alpha Rust Poultice?
The poultice is a powder that requires water mixing and 24 hours per application. RSR-2000 generally removes the stain in 5 to 10 minutes with a single application.
