Description

Alpha® PT Cutter — Porcelain Paver Tile Turbo Blade

Alpha® engineered the PT Cutter specifically for porcelain paver tile, delivering clean, minimal-chip cuts in the most demanding hardscape applications. A sintered turbo-rim diamond layer bonded directly to the steel core enables fast dry cutting and curved step cuts on angle grinders, gas-powered demolition saws, and electric cut-off saws.

Features

  • Purpose-built for porcelain paver tile and demanding hardscape work
  • Sintered turbo-rim diamond layer bonded directly to a tough steel core
  • 8 mm tall diamond layer for extended blade life
  • Cuts wet or dry — ideal where water is impractical
  • 9" model fits angle grinders; 12" and 14" fit gas-powered demolition saws and electric cut-off saws
  • Curved cutting via step-cutting technique
  • Includes arbor adapters (20 mm and 7/8" on 12" and 14")
Part No. Diameter Thickness Max RPM Arbor(s) Saw Type UPC
LT09A+ 9" 2.5 mm 6,600 7/8", 5/8", Quad-W5 Angle Grinders 749173472978
LT12A+ 12" 2.6 mm 6,200 1", 7/8", 20 mm Gas Demolition / Electric Cut-Off Saws 749173472862
LT14A+ 14" 2.8 mm 5,360 1", 7/8", 20 mm Gas Demolition / Electric Cut-Off Saws 749173472855
  1. Match the blade size and arbor to your saw — 9" (LT09A+) for angle grinders, 12" (LT12A+) or 14" (LT14A+) for gas demolition or electric cut-off saws.
  2. Mount the blade with the correct flange and arbor adapter; verify the arrow on the blade matches the saw rotation.
  3. Score the porcelain paver tile lightly along the cut line first — this guides the blade and prevents overheating and edge break-out.
  4. Run the saw at 3/4 of maximum spindle speed; let the blade do the work without forcing it into the tile.
  5. For curves and box cut-outs use step cutting — multiple shallow passes that nibble the curve.
  6. If the blade starts to wobble from heat, lift it out and free-spin it in air for several seconds to cool.
  7. Wet cutting always extends blade life; use water whenever the saw and jobsite allow.

Is a 16" diameter PT Cutter available?

No. Only 9", 12", and 14" diameters are manufactured. The 12" and 14" ship with 20 mm and 7/8" arbor adapters.

Why should I score the porcelain paver before cutting?

Scoring creates a guide path that keeps the blade tracking straight and prevents overheating and breakage of the tile.

Why does the blade become wobbly during a cut?

The softer steel body absorbs cutting impact, so it can wobble when overheated. Run the saw at 3/4 max spindle speed and free-spin the blade in air to cool whenever wobble appears.

Can the PT Cutter be used on other paver tiles?

Yes, but Alpha® recommends staying within porcelain paver applications — that is where the blade truly excels.

Does the PT Cutter work on walk-behind floor cutters?

No. The blade does not include the pin hole required by walk-behind floor cutters.

How do I cut internal corners and box cut-outs?

Use the Alpha® Katana on an angle grinder or stone cutter for small straight cuts, and the Alpha® Contour blade for curves and openings.

Can the 12" PT Cutter run on a 14" saw?

Yes, provided you keep the saw at 3/4 of maximum speed and free-spin the blade between cuts to cool it.

Is the PT Cutter compatible with electric cut-off saws?

Yes — the 12" model is rated for electric cut-off saws.
