Description
Alpha® ESC-125 / ESC-225 5" Electric Wet/Dry Stone Cutter
The Alpha® ESC-125 (110V) and ESC-225 (220V) are 5" Electric Wet/Dry Stone Cutters engineered for precision cuts on granite, quartz surfaces, marble, limestone, concrete and sintered slabs. Redesigned from the AWS-125 platform to comply with the 2017 OSHA silica rule, the ESC-125/225 pairs a new aluminum manifold and hybrid kink/memory-free water hose for wet cutting with a side dust cover that connects to a HEPA vacuum — so the same tool trims countertops on the jobsite without flooding the work area in slurry or silica dust.
Features
- Precision cuts every time on granite, quartz surfaces, marble, limestone, concrete and sintered slabs
- Aluminum manifold delivers a strong water jet that cools the blade and flushes slurry ahead of the cut
- Hybrid kink/memory-free water hose with quick-disconnect garden hose adapter
- Side dust cover redirects dust to an attached HEPA vacuum for dry on-site countertop trimming
- Built-in GFCI protection on the power cord
- Reversible TT ruler guide and improved clamping system for stable, repeatable cuts
- Self-stick felt strips protect polished work surfaces
- Compatible with Alpha® curve cutting blades for shaped cuts
- One-year tool warranty (see manual for details)
| Part No. | Power | Disc Size | Voltage | UPC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ESC-125 | 1200W | 5" (125mm) | 110V | 749173621406 |

- Place the slab on a stable, supported work surface; for dry cuts, set a stone or Styrofoam substrate under the blade path to redirect dust upward toward the vacuum.
- For wet cutting, connect the hybrid water hose to a standard garden hose via the quick-connect adapter and verify steady flow at the manifold.
- For dry cutting, attach a HEPA vacuum (per OSHA Table 1) to the side dust cover before powering up.
- Install the TT ruler guide — facing down when riding the slab edge, facing up when cutting along a straight edge on top of the slab.
- Plug the tool into a grounded outlet; reset the in-line GFCI before each session.
- Set blade depth (max 1-5/8" / 41 mm), then advance the cutter steadily along the guide — let the blade do the work; do not force it sideways.
- After cutting, flush the manifold with clean water, wipe the base plate dry, and inspect the carbon brushes and felt strips.

What materials is the ESC-125/225 ideal for?
Granite, quartz surfaces, marble, limestone, concrete and sintered slabs.
Which way should the TT ruler guide face?
Face the ruler guide down when riding the edge of the slab; face it up when cutting along a straight edge on top of the slab.
What is the warranty?
One-year tool warranty. See the manual for full details.
Where can I get the parts list and schematic?
Visit alpha-tools.com or call 800-648-7229.
Can I use my old Universal Carriage System with the ESC-125?
No. Design improvements on the new ESC-125 prevent compatibility with older Universal Carriage Systems. A new carriage assembly (ASC-5CSM) is available for the ESC-125.
What vacuum should I use for dry cutting?
A HEPA vacuum that meets OSHA Table 1 requirements is recommended for dry use.
Why does dust come out the bottom during dry cutting?
Place a stone slab or Styrofoam substrate underneath the cut so dust is redirected upward toward the dust cover and vacuum suction.
