Alpha EcoGuard 5" Dust Collection Cover with Universal Adapter
The Alpha EcoGuard is a purpose-built dust shroud that captures airborne silica at the source when cutting or grinding stone, tile, and concrete with a 5" angle grinder. The integrated universal vacuum port fits most 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" hose IDs and pairs with an OSHA Table 1 compliant HEPA dust extractor to keep crystalline silica out of the operator's breathing zone. Choose CX for cutting work with diamond blades or GX for grinding work with cup wheels and polishing pads.

- Disconnect the grinder from power before installing or removing the EcoGuard cover.
- Pick the correct model: CX for cutting with diamond blades, GX for grinding with cup wheels or polishing pads.
- Remove the OEM guard on your 5" angle grinder and seat the EcoGuard bracket on the spindle collar. Hand-tighten, then torque the clamp screw evenly.
- Rotate the shroud so the vacuum port clears the operator's body and hose path.
- Connect a HEPA-rated dust extractor hose (1-1/4" to 1-1/2" ID) to the universal swivel adapter. For a sealed fit, use the Alpha EcoGuard CX-5 Universal Connector (SKU 500026 / 500073).
- Start the dust extractor first, then start the grinder. Maintain extractor airflow above the tool manufacturer's minimum CFM rating for OSHA Table 1 compliance.
- After use, vacuum the inside of the shroud and inspect the bracket for cracks. Replace if damaged.
