Alpha AWS-110
The AWS-110 Wet Stone and Tile Cutter is ideal for those working with natural and engineered stone, tile, concrete, masonry and glass. It was designed to produce straight and true cuts as required by professional fabricators and installers. Equipped with one of the most powerful motors in its class, the AWS-110 has the strength to power through hard dense materials, such as, porcelain, hard red granites and engineered stone. The water-feed supply eliminates the harmful dust particles common in dry cutting applications. The included self-stick felt strips can be applied to the base plate to protect the work surface from scratches. The AWS-110 may be used several ways. With the reversible ruler guide down, one can work off the edge of the stone; in the up position, it can glide along a straight edge. Of course, it may be used free hand and either wet or dry. The AWS-110 is more than a saw; it is a complete cutting system that can be used for cutting, scoring, profiling and more. It is designed and manufactured with the highest quality standards, as are all Alpha Professional Tools® products.

Is there a maintenance program for the AWS-110/220?
Answer :
No. Replacement of the carbon brushes on a periodic basis is the first step to any type of maintenance. If complications begin to arise during cutting, or if unusual noises occur, then we recommend that you send your tool for maintenance. Our Tool Repair Department will evaluate the tool and provide an estimate for your approval before performing any work. The sooner a tool is checked after noticing an abnormal noise, the less likely there will be a significant amount of damage.

This item is called the Guide Ruler or TT Ruler Guide. It is designed to enhance the cutting performance of the AWS-110/220 by providing a guide that will work against the straight edge of the stone or a rail of some type clamped to the stone surface.

Why does the TT Ruler Guide have two extension arms?
Answer :
Most other manufacturers on the market only have one extension arm. While one extension provides the ability for the saw to cut in a straight line, some harder applications tend to make the saw pull sideways. The second extension prevents this sideways movement and provides the operator with a sturdier means to accomplish a straight cut.

Answer :
First use either the TT Guide Ruler provided with the AWS-110/220 Wet Stone Cutter or you can use the Guide Rail System with your AWS-110/220 Wet Stone Cutter attached. Secondly, before you begin to cut, check the condition of the blade. If the diamonds are glazed, the blade will not perform regardless of the equipment you use it on. Lastly, don't force the blade to cut. Apply slow even pressure to allow the diamonds in the blade time to cut for the best cut.

There are two felt strips supplied with my AWS-110/220 Wet Stone Cutter, what are they used for?
Answer :
You can attach these two felt strips to the bottom of the base plate to prevent any possible scratching of the material. With out these felt strips, the base plate would slide directly on the surface of the material. Felt strips are highly recommended for glass cutting applications.

The GFCI is tripping frequently. What I can I do?
Answer :
If the GFCI is tripping frequently, there could be several problems. 1. Water is getting inside the stone cutter. Dry the tool with compressed air. 2. The voltage drops due to sharing the same power source in a work area. 3. You are applying too much force to the tool. Back off on the pressure. 4. Contact Alpha® - tool repair for further advice. 5. You may have a loose outlet. Make sure the power cord plug is tightly inserted in the power outlet.
