Akemi Anti-Graffiti Coating
AKEMI Anti-Graffiti is a ready-to-use, water-based protective coating built on a silicone-and-polymer emulsion. Applied as a self-priming top layer, it forms a weather-resistant, vapor-diffusible, non-yellowing barrier with a non-sticky surface that repels water and paint. On treated facades, buildings, and monuments, graffiti aerosol paint and felt-tip ink no longer bond into the surface and can be washed away with a hot-water or steam jet — no aggressive cleaner needed. pH-neutral and compatible with all building materials, it suits a wide range of absorbent mineral surfaces while deepening the color tone only minimally.
- Easy graffiti removal — paint and marker wash off with a hot-water or steam jet
- Water-based & pH-neutral — silicone-polymer emulsion, compatible with all building materials
- Breathable & weather-resistant — vapor-diffusible, non-yellowing, non-sticky surface
- Discreet finish — only minimal deepening of the color tone; dries transparent
- Water- and paint-repellent protective top layer

- Prophylactic protection — graffiti aerosol paint and felt-tip ink can be removed with a hot-water or steam jet
- Water-based silicone-polymer emulsion; pH-neutral and compatible with all building materials
- Weather-resistant and vapor-diffusible, so the substrate can still breathe
- Does not yellow and leaves a non-sticky surface
- Water- and paint-repellent
- Causes only a minimal deepening of the color tone; dries transparent
A protective treatment for facades, buildings, and monuments on absorbent mineral surfaces:
- Natural and artificial stone
- Concrete, bricks, clinker, and sand-lime bricks
- Plaster and similar absorbent mineral bases
Not suitable for: plastics or wood (hazard of swelling), and polished or glazed surfaces (treatment causes a loss of luster). On some dark natural stones (e.g. Nero Assoluto, Nero Impala) the stone’s own structures may appear intensified — this is a characteristic of the stone, not a product defect.
- Clean the surface so it is clean, completely dry, and free of all layers. Rinse well after cleaning and allow to dry — usually 1–2 days at the earliest.
- Prepare a 10–20 sq ft (1–2 m²) sample area to check efficiency, appearance, and material consumption.
- Shake before use. Apply undiluted — at least twice (three times on highly absorbent surfaces) wet-in-wet at intervals of 15–30 minutes, using a paint brush or low-pressure sprayer (max. 1 bar). Avoid run-off.
- Best working and ambient temperature is 50–77°F (10–25°C); avoid direct sunshine.
- Protect the treated surface from moisture (e.g. rain) for at least the first 5 hours after application.
- Clean brushes, rollers, and vessels easily with water.
- To remove graffiti, use a hot-water or steam jet without cleaner additives (approx. 290–725 psi, 250–285°F, at a distance of about 4–6 in). Renew the protective coating after the graffiti has been removed.
- For professional use only.
- When spray-applying, avoid forming aerosols and risk to third parties, and do not breathe vapors (wear a protective mask).
- Do not clean treated surfaces with organic solvents or soap-based products — these act aggressively on the coating and reduce or destroy its protective effect.
- Industrial chemical product — use with adequate ventilation and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always read the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
Industrial chemical product for professional use. Use with adequate ventilation and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection, plus a protective mask when spraying. Consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (available from the manufacturer or stein.akemi.de) before use. Technical values are manufacturer figures and may vary with jobsite conditions.
