Akemi Epoxy Remover — Water-Based Alkaline Cleaner (Ready-to-Use)
AKEMI® Epoxy Remover is an aqueous, alkaline cleaner with highly active additives and no pungent odor. It dissolves and removes epoxy-resin joint mortar, resin residues, sealings and similar contamination from natural and artificial stone, concrete ashlar, clinker and ceramics — indoors and out. Because it is water-based and free of acids, it is safe to use on acid-sensitive stone such as marble and limestone, where an acidic cleaner would etch the surface. Its liquid to slightly viscous body allows controlled application, and it arrives ready to use.
- Removes cured epoxy — joint mortar, resin residue and sealing contamination
- Water-based & acid-free — safe on marble, limestone and other acid-sensitive stone
- No pungent odor — free of acids, lyes and chlorinated hydrocarbons (CHC)
- Ready to use — no mixing or dilution required
- Indoor & outdoor — for a wide range of mineral surfaces

- Removes joint mortar based on epoxy resins, plus resin residues, sealings and similar contamination
- Water-based and acid-free — safe on acid-sensitive stone such as marble and limestone
- Free of acids, lyes and chlorinated hydrocarbons, with no pungent odor
- Liquid to slightly viscous body for controlled application on inclined surfaces
- Works indoors and outdoors on a wide range of mineral surfaces
- Supplied ready to use — no mixing required
Removes: epoxy-resin joint mortar, resin residues, sealings and similar contamination.
Suitable for:
- Natural stone — including acid-sensitive marble and limestone, plus granite
- Artificial stone, terrazzo and ceramics
- Concrete ashlar and clinker
- Slate and cotto
- Indoor and outdoor surfaces
- Apply the ready-to-use product to the contaminated surface.
- Allow it to act on the epoxy residue, supporting the process with a brush or scrubber as needed.
- Rinse thoroughly with water until all loosened residue and excess product are removed.
- Repeat on stubborn or thick residues if necessary.
Always prepare a sample area first to confirm compatibility, cleaning power and material consumption before treating the full surface.
- Strongly alkaline (pH 14) — causes severe skin burns and eye damage; may cause respiratory irritation.
- Contains 2-aminoethanol and potassium hydroxide.
- Avoid contact with materials that are sensitive to alkalis; if in doubt, test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
