Akemi AKEPOX® 1005 — Highly Fluid 2-Component Epoxy for Strengthening & Filling Natural Stone
AKEPOX® 1005 is a very fluid, solvent-free, 2-component epoxy resin system with a modified amine hardener, used to firmly close cracks and pores in natural stone. Its low viscosity gives it highly penetrative properties, and the clear, light-transparent cure makes it best suited to light natural stone. The hardened resin is weather-resistant, has excellent grinding and polishing properties, increases the firmness and surface quality of the stone, and — when properly applied — is classified as harmless to health for bonded natural and artificial stone in contact with food.

- Very low viscosity — highly penetrative for closing cracks and pores
- Hardens relatively quickly and cures clear, light-transparent
- Excellent grinding and polishing properties
- Increases the firmness and improves the surface quality of natural stone
- Solvent-free and weather-resistant with minimal tendency to yellow
- Food-safe cured bond when correctly applied (externally tested)
- Colour with AKEPOX® Colouring Concentrates or Stone Ink up to 5%
Mainly used in the stone-processing industry to strengthen porous and fissured natural stone slabs, concrete and concrete ashlar and to improve their surface qualities. In combination with spun-glass fabric it also reinforces brittle natural stone slabs. Pre-warming the stone to 60–70°C considerably increases penetration. Not to be used below 15°C, as it will not sufficiently harden.
Wear appropriate PPE. Follow manufacturer instructions and safety regulations.
