Akemi Rust Remover Marble — Acid-Free Rust Stain Cleaner
AKEMI Rust Remover Marble is an aqueous, slightly alkaline, ready-to-use cleaning agent formulated specifically for acid-sensitive stone. Because it is acid-free, it safely removes superficial rust stains — those caused by fertilizers, tools, iron parts, and other ferrous objects — from polished marble and limestone, as well as other natural and artificial stone and concrete ashlar that ordinary acidic rust removers would etch. Converted rust simply rinses away with clear water, and the surface can then be protected with an AKEMI impregnation to guard against new rust.

Recommended for removing superficial rust stains from:

Please note: deeply embedded (immanent) rust stains cannot be removed. Always prepare a sample area first to evaluate cleaning power and any change in color.
- Ideal application temperature is 59–77°F (15–25°C).
- Apply undiluted and saturate the dry surface to be treated.
- Allow the product to work for 5–10 minutes.
- If necessary, assist the cleaning mechanically with a brush or scrubber.
- Rinse thoroughly with clear water.
- Repeat the process for stubborn rust stains.
- Afterwards, protect the stone with an AKEMI Stone Impregnation or Stain Repellent to help prevent new rust from forming.
- Do not allow the product to dry on the surface; if it does, wash the surface with plenty of water and AKEMI Stone Cleaner.
- Do not let the product react for more than 10 minutes — longer contact risks staining.
- A violet stain may develop at first; it normally clears within approximately 1–2 days. Any permanent violet stain can be removed with a 5% hydrogen-peroxide solution.
- Do not bring into direct contact with plants; if contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water.
