Description

Akemi Marble Filler 1000 Transparent L-Special Waterclear — Knife-Grade Polyester Filler

AKEMI® Marble Filler 1000 Transparent L-Special Waterclear is a two-component, knife-grade polyester filler based on UV-stabilized unsaturated polyester resin dissolved in styrene. It has no colour of its own, so it is the choice for light, white, and transparent-crystalline natural stones — Thassos, Carrara, Onyx, Palisandro, Estremoz — where a bond must stay invisible and preserve the stone’s depth. The stiff, gel-like body holds on vertical surfaces for filling holes and modelling corners and edges, cures with low tension, and polishes to a high finish. UV stabilization keeps it clear, so it hardly yellows.

  • Waterclear & UV-stabilized — no own colour, hardly yellows, keeps light stone bright
  • Knife-grade gel — holds on vertical surfaces for filling and modelling corners and edges
  • Slow, low-tension cure — fills bigger defects, corners, and edges cleanly
  • Excellent polishability and very good adhesion on natural stone
  • Resistant to water, petrol, and mineral oils

Tool Cleaner AKEMI® Nitro-Dilution (uncured filler)
Shelf Life Approx. 1 year stored cool and frost-free in the tightly closed original container
  • No colour of its own — ideal for light, white, and transparent-crystalline natural stone
  • Waterclear bonds preserve the stereoscopic (three-dimensional) structure of the stone
  • UV-stabilized resin hardly yellows for lasting clarity
  • Slow hardening and low tension let you fill bigger defects, corners, and edges
  • Knife-grade body holds on vertical surfaces for modelling corners and edges
  • Excellently polishable with very good adhesion on natural stone
  • Resistant to water, petrol, and mineral oils
  • Can be tinted with AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes / Concentrates (up to max. 5%) for close matching

Recommended for filling & bonding:

  • Light or white, transparent-crystalline natural stone — e.g. Thassos, Carrara, Onyx, Palisandro, Estremoz
  • Near-invisible bonding joints that keep the stone’s depth and colour
  • Modelling corners and edges, and filling larger holes

Tip: mix in a little crushed granular material to imitate the crystal structure of the stone. Only moderate adhesion on fresh, alkaline building materials (e.g. concrete). Bonds frequently exposed to humidity and frost have limited durability.

  1. Make sure the surface is clean, completely dry, and roughened.
  2. If desired, tint with AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes or Concentrates (up to max. 5%); the filler may be diluted with Thinner S up to 8%.
  3. Add 1 to 2 g of Hardener B liquid (25–50 drops) per 100 g of filler. This waterclear product only hardens with Hardener B liquid.
  4. Mix both components thoroughly. The mixture stays workable for approx. 12–24 minutes at 68°F (20°C), depending on hardener dose.
  5. After approx. 6–8 hours the parts can bear load; after approx. 12 hours they can be further processed (grinding, milling, drilling).
  6. Clean tools with AKEMI® Nitro-Dilution before the filler cures. Curing is accelerated by heat and delayed by cold.
  • Wear AKEMI® Liquid Glove or chemical-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
  • Use Hardener B liquid only. Doses above 2% cause more or less intensive discolouring; doses below 1% and low temperatures greatly delay hardening.
  • Constant heat above 122°F (50°C) causes discolouring and reduces bonding properties.
  • Do not use filler that has already thickened or begun to gel.
  • Once hardened, it can only be removed mechanically or with high heat (above 392°F / 200°C), not with solvents.
  • Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
