Akemi Marble Filler 1000 Transparent L-Special — Knife-Grade Polyester Filler
AKEMI® Marble Filler 1000 Transparent L-Special is a two-component, knife-grade polyester filler and adhesive based on unsaturated polyester resin dissolved in styrene. Its stiff, gel-like body is formulated for vertical work — it stays where you put it, so you can bond, fill, and model corners and edges on upright surfaces. Transparent with a light honey tone that can be tinted to match the stone, it polishes to a high finish and grips natural stone firmly, making it a stone-shop staple for filling defects and laminating slabs.
- Knife-grade gel — holds on vertical surfaces for filling corners and edges
- Transparent & tintable — colour with AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes to match the stone
- Fast hardening — parts ready to work in about 20–60 minutes
- Excellent polishability and very good adhesion on natural stone
- Resistant to water, petrol, and mineral oils

| Tool Cleaner | AKEMI® Nitro-Dilution (uncured filler) |
| Shelf Life | Approx. 1 year stored cool and frost-free in the tightly closed original container |
- Knife-grade consistency stays put on vertical surfaces for filling and modelling corners and edges
- Transparent body accepts AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes for close colour matching
- Fast hardening (approx. 20–60 minutes) keeps production moving
- Excellently polishable to a high finish
- Very good adhesion on natural stone, also at elevated temperatures
- Resistant to water, petrol, and mineral oils
- Can be thinned with Marble Filler 1000 Transparent extra-liquid when a looser flow is needed
Recommended for filling & bonding:
- Natural stone — marble, granite and similar, especially on vertical surfaces
- Filling defects, holes, corners, and edges
- Reinforcing (laminating) natural-stone slabs with glass-fibre products
- Forming rock substitutes with crushed rock and sand
Keep bond layers thin (< 1 mm) to limit shrinkage (approx. 5–8%). Only moderate adhesion on fresh, alkaline building materials (e.g. concrete). Bonds frequently exposed to humidity and frost have limited durability.
- Make sure the surface is clean, completely dry, and slightly roughened.
- If desired, tint by adding AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes (up to max. 5%).
- Add 1 to 4 g of white hardener paste per 100 g of filler (about 4–5 cm of paste from the screw tube equals 1 g).
- Mix both components thoroughly. The mixture stays workable for approx. 3–10 minutes at 68°F (20°C), depending on hardener dose; lower doses and cold lengthen the time, higher doses and heat shorten it.
- After approx. 20–60 minutes the filled parts can be further processed (grinding, milling, drilling).
- Clean tools with AKEMI® Nitro-Dilution before the filler cures.
- Wear AKEMI® Liquid Glove or chemical-resistant gloves to protect your hands.
- Hardener doses above 4% reduce adhesion and impair surface drying; doses below 1% and low temperatures greatly delay hardening.
- Do not use filler that has already thickened or begun to gel.
- The hardened filler has a slight tendency to yellow.
- Once hardened, it can only be removed mechanically or with high heat (above 392°F / 200°C), not with solvents.
- Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
