Akemi Stain Repellent SUPER — Food-Safe, Fluorine-Free Impregnator
AKEMI® Stain Repellent Super is a ready-to-use, high-performance anti-stain impregnation based on modified oligomeric alkylalkoxysiloxanes — a fluorine-free (PFAS-free) chemistry. Drawn deep into the stone by capillary forces, it reacts catalytically to form a polysiloxane and bonds with the stone’s own silicate, giving long-lasting oil-, grease- and water-repellency that lasts for years. It penetrates without forming a surface film, so the stone keeps breathing, and once fully hardened it is certified harmless to health on contact with food — making it a natural choice for kitchen worktops and food-prep surfaces.
- Food-safe once cured — certified harmless on contact with food by an external German testing institute
- Fluorine-free (PFAS-free) — siloxane-based chemistry, no “forever chemicals”
- Long-lasting oil, grease & water repellency — deep penetration for multi-year protection
- Breathable — no surface layer; high vapor permeability with tack-free hardening
- Anti-graffiti & UV-resistant — low paint adhesion; no methanol released while curing

- Very good and long-lasting oil- and grease-repellent effect — resistance to wear for several years
- Extreme reduction of water and dirt absorption during periods of moisture
- Penetrates deep and reacts with the stone’s silicate for high, durable effectiveness
- High vapor permeability — the surface breathes because no film is formed
- Anti-graffiti effect; marker-pen staining is easy to remove
- Tack-free hardening, UV-resistant, and no methanol released during curing
- Certified harmless to health on contact with food once fully hardened
For water-, grease- and oil-repellent treatment of mineral building materials, including:
- Marble, limestone, granite, gneiss and porphyry (polished, ground or rough)
- Cotto, terrazzo, fine stoneware and engineered stone
- Concrete and unglazed ceramic tiles
- Kitchen coatings and working plates, bathrooms, wash tables, tables, window sills, tile joints and facades (anti-graffiti)
Not suitable for: glazed and non-absorbent surfaces, or plaster.
- The surface must be clean, totally dry and free of all layers. After any cleaning, allow the stone to dry — usually 1–2 days at the earliest.
- Prepare a 1–2 m² sample area to check efficiency, appearance and material consumption.
- Impregnate at 59–77°F (15–25°C), protected from moisture for about 24 hours. Do not warm the stone with underfloor heating or direct sunlight. On less absorbent surfaces, dilute 1:1 with AKEMI® Nitro Dilution.
- Apply with a brush or mop; generally one to two coats wet-in-wet are sufficient.
- About 20 minutes after application — before it dries on the surface — wipe off any excess that has not been absorbed. Polish polished surfaces again until any blooming is removed.
- Apply once more if needed. The water- and oil-repellent effect develops after about 1–2 days, full protection after about 1 week.
- Ventilate for approximately 2–3 days when used in food areas. Clean tools with AKEMI® Nitro Dilution.
- Disregarding the processing guidelines can lead to irreparable damage. A surplus of product causes blooming and spotting.
- If stored below 59°F (15°C) the product may turn cloudy; warming to about 77°F (25°C) makes it clear again.
- In spray application, avoid forming aerosols; do not breathe vapors (wear a protective mask).
- Product applied inaccurately can be removed with AKEMI® Impregnation Remover.
- Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
