Description
Alpha® Profiler Z-Series — Vertical Grinding Wheel
The Alpha® Profiler Z-Series — also known as zero-tolerance or drum-grinding wheels — uses vacuum-brazed diamond technology to maintain its original cylindrical shape over a long working life, unlike sintered-bond profilers that quickly lose geometry. Paired with the Alpha® AWS-125 Stone Cutter for sink-hole fabrication, the Profiler Z delivers aggressive cutting performance for sink-rim shaping, corner work and edge profiling on granite, engineered stone, porcelain and other hard materials. Available in 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2" sizes with a 5/8"-11 female thread and internal water passage.
Features
- Vacuum-Brazed Diamond Technology — True Zero-Tolerance Shape
- Never Loses Original Geometry for the Life of the Wheel
- Vertical Grinding for Sink Rims, Corners and Edge Profiling
- For Granite, Engineered Stone, Porcelain, Marble and Limestone
- 5/8"-11 Female Thread with Internal Water Passages
- Compatible with All Popular Water-Fed Polishers (AIR-680, VSP-320, etc.)
- Pairs with Alpha® Corner Ruler for Precision Corner Work
- Available in 1-1/4" (3 cm), 1-1/2" (4 cm) and 2" (5 cm)
| Part No. | Size | Max RPM | Shape | Thread | UPC |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PFZ301 | 1-1/4" (3 cm) | 3,500 RPM | Straight | 5/8"-11 | 749173470615 |
| PFZ401 | 1-1/2" (4 cm) | 3,500 RPM | Straight | 5/8"-11 | 749173470622 |
| PFZ501 | 2" (5 cm) | 6,000 RPM | Straight | 5/8"-11 | 749173473234 |
- Select the Profiler Z size that matches your material thickness (3 cm stock → PFZ301, 4 cm stock → PFZ401).
- Thread the wheel onto a low-RPM wet polisher with a 5/8"-11 spindle — max 3,500 RPM (PFZ301/401) or 6,000 RPM (PFZ501).
- Connect the polisher to a water supply; the Profiler Z is for wet applications only.
- For sink rims, follow the contour cut left by the AWS-125 Stone Cutter using firm vertical pressure.
- Use the optional PFBNG02B Nylon Guide to prevent dipping and keep the wheel level on the material.
- Allow the wheel to do the work — do not bear down or stall the polisher.
- For corner profiling, pair with an Alpha® Corner Ruler for guided, repeatable geometry.
- After use, flush internal water passages and inspect diamond surface for clogging.

Which Profiler Z size should I use for my material?
Use PFZ301 (1-1/4") for 2 cm or 3 cm stock, PFZ401 (1-1/2") for 4 cm material, and PFZ501 (2") for thicker stock or rougher stock-removal work.
Can the Profiler Z be used dry?
No. All Alpha® Profilers are for wet applications only — dry use will destroy the bond and overheat the diamond.
How do I prevent the wheel from dipping into the material?
Use the optional PFBNG02B Nylon Guide. Pressed firmly against the work, the guide keeps the wheel perfectly level.
Can I run the Profiler Z on a high-speed angle grinder?
No. Maximum 3,500 RPM is recommended; the Profiler Z is engineered for low-RPM wet polishers such as the Alpha AIR-680 and VSP-320.
Will it work on concrete?
Concrete is possible, but the life of the wheel will be extremely short. Dedicated concrete wheels are recommended.
What materials is the Profiler Z designed for?
Granite, engineered stone (quartz), porcelain, marble and limestone.
Is it compatible with Park Industries Wizard / Deluxe machines?
Yes — the 5/8"-11 thread and 3,500 RPM max are within Wizard/Deluxe operating parameters.
Why does the Profiler Z keep its shape longer than competitor wheels?
Vacuum-brazed diamond bonding holds individual diamonds in place far longer than sintered bonds, so the wheel maintains true zero-tolerance geometry throughout its life.
