Description

Akemi EVERCLEAR 510 Knife-Grade Gel 2-Component PUR Adhesive

AKEMI® EVERCLEAR 510 is a professional, gel-like, solvent-free two-component polyurethane (2C-PUR) adhesive engineered for the stone-working industry. Its knife-grade consistency gives it good stability on vertical surfaces while still allowing thin, precise bonding joints, and its water-clear, transparent formula has a very high stability to yellowing — making it the go-to choice for bonding and filling very light-colored, white, and even transparent natural and artificial stone. Parts A and B are combined at a simple 1:1 ratio to give a low-shrinkage, grindable and polishable bond on marble, granite, Techno Ceramic, engineered stone, terrazzo, concrete, and many other materials, indoors and out.

  • Water-clear & yellowing-stable — built for white and light-colored stone, indoors and outdoors
  • Knife-grade gel — holds on vertical surfaces yet allows thin, precise glue lines
  • Simple 1:1 mixing (Part A : Part B) — solvent-free with very low shrinkage
  • Grindable & polishable after cure — no bleeding in the contact zone
  • Tintable with AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes / Concentrates (up to 2%)

  • Transparent, colourless with excellent stability to yellowing — safe on white and light-colored stone, indoors and outdoors
  • Gel-like knife-grade consistency: good stability in vertical areas, yet thin bonding joints can still be made
  • Solvent-free with very low shrinkage, so only minimal tension builds within the bonding joint
  • No discolouration or bleeding in the contact / marginal zone
  • Very good grindable and polishable after cure (approx. 8 hours at 68°F / 20°C)
  • Suitable for hard stone (granite, Techno Ceramic) indoors and outdoors, and soft stone (marble, Jura limestone) indoors
  • Easily coloured with AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes / Colouring Concentrates or Spectrum Pastes (up to 2%)
  • Very low emission — GEV EMICODE® EC1PLUS, emission class A+

Recommended for bonding & filling:

  • Natural stone — marble, granite, Jura limestone (soft stone indoors; hard stone indoors & outdoors)
  • Techno Ceramic and engineered / artificial stone
  • Building materials — terrazzo and concrete
  • Other materials such as plastics, paper, wood and glass (a test bond is recommended)

Not suitable for: polyolefins (polyethylene, polypropylene), PTFE (Teflon), silicone, and plasticiser-containing materials such as soft PVC.

Only conditionally suitable in areas of permanent moisture or in direct contact with water.

  1. Thoroughly clean the surfaces (free of dust, dirt and grease) and slightly roughen smooth surfaces. Surfaces must be dry — humidity causes bubbles and a loss of strength.
  2. Mix Part A with Part B at a strict 1:1 ratio (e.g. 100 g : 100 g) until a uniform, homogeneous mixture is achieved. From a 2C cartridge, run material from both openings and discard the first approx. 4 in (10 cm) from the mixing nozzle.
  3. If desired, tint with up to 2% AKEMI® Polyester Colouring Pastes / Concentrates or Spectrum Pastes.
  4. The mixture stays workable for approx. 5–12 minutes at 68°F (20°C) depending on grade. Working time shortens in heat and lengthens in cold.
  5. Bonded parts may be moved after approx. 2–3 hours, further processed (ground/polished) after approx. 6–8 hours, and reach maximum stability after 7 days (all at 68°F / 20°C).
  6. Clean tools immediately with AKEMI® Universal Dilution before the adhesive cures. Curing is accelerated by heat and delayed by cold.
  • Keep the exact 1:1 mixing ratio — an excess of either component acts as a plasticiser and can slowly cause yellowing and weaken the bond.
  • Bond only dry, clean, grease-free surfaces; moisture forms bubbles in the glue and reduces stability.
  • Recommended application temperature at least 59°F (15°C); do not use below 41°F (5°C), or it will not sufficiently harden.
  • Do not permanently expose the bond above 140°F (60°C); brief exposure up to 212°F (100°C) is possible.
  • Only conditionally suitable for permanently wet areas or direct water contact.
  • Cured adhesive can be removed only mechanically.
  • Industrial chemical product — use only in well-ventilated areas and wear chemical-resistant gloves and eye protection. Always consult the AKEMI Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
