The Makita GA4542C is a corded 4‑1/2" angle grinder built around a 12.0 AMP motor with variable speed from 2,800 to 11,000 RPM, letting the operator match wheel speed to the material. Makita's SJS™II (Super Joint System) uses a leaf spring and cam gear drive to cut vibration at the grip and to protect the motor and gears if the wheel binds or stalls. Labyrinth construction seals the motor, drive gear and bearings against dust. The grinder is used for cutting and grinding ferrous metal, paint and rust removal, metal polishing, auto-body work, and cutting brick and masonry — the kind of job-site grinding and surface prep that comes up around stone and masonry work. It ships with a 4‑1/2" grinding wheel, wheel guard, inner flange, lock nut, lock nut wrench and side handle.
