Description

Alpha® Cordless 3-3/8" Saw Blade for Glass or Ceramic Tile

The Alpha® Cordless Saw Blade comes in two versions for battery-powered saws: the glass blade (BG03AL) is engineered for wet cutting of mirror, sheet glass and glass tile, and the tile blade (BT03AL) cuts ceramic and stone tile wet or dry. Both give chip-free cuts and suit switch-box cut-outs and trim work. Compatible with cordless saws from Makita, Panasonic and Skil.

  1. Mount the blade so the diamond bond tails point OPPOSITE the rotation direction (see sticker on blade).
  2. Confirm the saw RPM does not exceed the blade's rating (1,500 RPM for the glass blade).
  3. For the glass blade, set up continuous water feed at the cutting edge — never dry cut it.
  4. Cut steadily without forcing; let the blade do the work.
  5. If the cut speed slows, re-dress the blade with a dressing stone or soft concrete block to expose fresh diamond.

Which way do I install the blade on my tool?

The proper blade direction is shown on the sticker label on the blade. Position it so the diamond bond tails point opposite the rotation direction.

What materials can I cut with this blade?

The glass blade (BG03AL) cuts glass, mirrors and decorative glass tile; the tile blade (BT03AL) cuts ceramic and stone tile.

Which battery-powered tools are compatible?

Makita, Panasonic and Skil cordless saws are the tools of choice for both 3-3/8" blades.

Can I use this blade for dry cutting?

Not the glass blade (BG03AL): it must be used with continuous water to prevent heat buildup, and dry running will damage it. The tile blade (BT03AL) can be used wet or dry.

How do I restore cutting speed if it slows down?

Re-dress the blade with a soft abrasive such as a dressing stone or concrete block to expose fresh diamond when the surface glazes over.

What is the maximum RPM?

The 3-3/8" glass blade (BG03AL) should not exceed 1,500 RPM.

What is the arbor size?

The glass blade (BG03AL) has a 15 mm arbor.

What is the maximum depth of cut?

The glass blade's maximum depth of cut is 53/64" (~21 mm).
