Alpha® Ultracut APR Series combines the high-performance of the Alpha® Ultracut GPM Series with our unique design for flush cutting applications. Unlike other blades, the Ultracut APR Series blade accepts our exclusive Quad Drive Adapter, which eliminates the required lock nut. The Quad Drive Adapter has a threaded arbor that permits mounting on angle grinders for “flush cutting” applications. For a quick and easy solution, use this blade to completely remove anchor bolts, concrete re-bar and pipe from floors and walls. This blade brings accuracy and precision flush cutting to the manufacturing facility or the jobsite.

How long does it last compared with a standard abrasive cut off wheel?
Answer :
It is subjective depending on the application. However the general indication of the Ultracut APR Series is that it may last up to 50 to 60 times more than that of a standard abrasive cut off wheel. Conservatively it should last 30 to 40 times more than a standard abrasive cut-off wheel. With this said, you can save downtime from the disc changes, thus adding user-convenience, without wrenches and abrasive cut-off wheel inventory.

Can I use it with water to eliminate dust?
Answer :
Yes you can use Ultracut APR Series with water to reduce dust and also improve the performance and life of the tool.
Question :
Can I cut very hard materials such as a granite slab or a porcelain tile?
Answer :
Normally sintered metal bond diamond blades have more of an advantage cutting granite and porcelain over vacuum brazed diamond blades, so we don’t recommend using the Ultracut APR Series blade for granite or porcelain. If you have to cut them, we recommend cutting them with water to cool the cutting edge.

Can I re-use a Quad Adapter?
Answer :
Yes you can reuse a Quad Adapter. The Alpha® Quad Adapter is made with Brass and comes with 4 screws and 2 nylon lock nuts so that it is safer to use and lasts longer compared to one made out of aluminum.

What kind of tool can I use the Ultracut APR Series on?
Answer :
Ultracut APR Series with Quad Adapter is designed for any angle grinder with a 5/8”-11 thread spindle. If you want to use a European version grinder with M14-2 spindle, Alpha® offers a comparable Quad Adapter.
Question :
Can I use Ultracut APR Series for grinding applications?
Answer :
No. Ultracut APR Series is designed for Flush Cutting but not designed for grinding. The diamond layer on the bottom side of the steel core is for the protection of the steel core from under cutting only.
Question :
When the Ultracut APR Series is installed on a grinder, the edge of the safety guard touches before the blade. Can adjustments be made?
Answer :
Alpha® offers several washers to compensate for the gap between the blade and the edge of the safety guard, so please call our office to inquire about accessories such as that.
Question :
Can I use Ultracut APR Series on a cordless grinder?
Answer :
Yes. However, since you can increase the performance of the blade with a stronger power tool at the highest rpm, we recommend using the Ultracut APR Series on an industrial quality corded angle grinder. If you must use it on a cordless grinder, please run it at the highest rpm and let the blade cut the materials at its own pace

I need this kind of multi-purposes vacuum brazed diamond blade for a pneumatic cut-off tool. What do you recommend?
Answer :
Alpha® recommends the Ultracut ABM Series that fits on a 3” pneumatic cut-off tool and a 4” pneumatic extended cut-off tool with 3/8” spindle.
