Description

Alpha® Contour Blade for Granite/Engineered Stone

The Alpha® Contour Blade is engineered for hand curved cuts — sink cut-outs, radius cuts, and shaped openings — on granite, engineered stone, quartzite and harder marbles. Direct sintered diamond segments on a steel core prevent undercutting, and side protection segments grind a wider kerf so you can pull tight radiuses cleanly. Fits standard 5" wet stone cutters and angle grinders, and can plunge cut with excellent control when mounted on the Alpha AWS-125.

Features

  • Specifically developed for cutting granite sinkholes — the best seller for sinkhole work
  • Cuts all granites and engineered stone brands; also works on quartzite and harder marble types
  • Direct sintered diamond segments on steel core prevent undercutting
  • Side protection segments grind a wider kerf for tight inside radiuses
  • Use wet or dry — Alpha highly recommends wet cutting for longest life and dust control
  • Fits angle grinders, 5" wet stone cutters, and CNC router heads (6" size)
  • Eliminates difficult plunge cuts when paired with the AWS-125 wet stone cutter
Part No. Diameter Arbor Max RPM UPC
CCB004 4" 7/8" 14,500 749173460012
CCB045 4-1/2" 7/8" 13,200 749173460043
CCB005 5" 7/8" 12,200 749173460029
CCB006 6" 7/8" 10,100 749173460036
  1. Mount the blade on a 5" wet stone cutter (AWS-125 recommended) or an angle grinder with the 7/8" arbor.
  2. Always run above 9,000 RPM and never exceed the Max RPM listed for the size you are using.
  3. Run wet whenever possible — use a steady water feed at the blade/material interface to maximize life and suppress silica dust.
  4. For sink cut-outs, plunge slowly using the front edge of the blade, then walk the cut around the radius using the side protection segments.
  5. Match blade diameter to slab thickness: 4" and 4-1/2" for 3/4" (2 cm) slabs; 5" for 1-1/4" (3 cm) slabs; 6" for CNC and 6"-7" grinders.

What materials can I cut with this blade?

All types of granite and every brand of engineered stone. It also performs well on quartzite and harder marbles. For softer marbles use the Contour for Marble; for porcelain/sintered slabs use the Contour for Porcelain.

Can I use this dry blade wet?

Yes — Alpha highly recommends wet cutting. Mounted on the AWS-125 with a steady water feed, the blade lasts longer and dust exposure is dramatically reduced.

Which size should I pick for my slab thickness?

4" and 4-1/2" are ideal for 3/4" (2 cm) slabs. The 5" handles 1-1/4" (3 cm) slabs in one pass. The 6" is intended for CNC machinery and 6"-7" angle grinders.

What is the maximum RPM?

Max RPM varies by size (see the Models table). All sizes require a minimum of 9,000 RPM to cut properly.

Can I plunge cut with this blade?

Yes — mounted on the AWS-125 wet stone cutter you can plunge cut with excellent control. Plunge slowly using the front edge of the blade.

What do the side protection segments do?

They help cut curved areas cleanly, grind a wider kerf so the blade can pull tighter radiuses, and prevent undercutting.
