Superior V-Max SV-9 Knife Grade Adhesive
V-Max SV-9 is a 100% vinyl ester resin adhesive from Superior Stone Products, formulated as a knife-grade paste. It cures off-white with a translucent, pearlescent finish, which keeps seams and repairs low-visibility on light and white stone. It is used for seaming, mitering, laminating, rodding and chip repair on natural stone, engineered stone, and sintered / ultra-compact surfaces.
The adhesive is catalyzed with BPO (benzoyl peroxide) paste hardener at a 1–3% ratio. Gel time runs 3–4 minutes and cure time is approximately 20 minutes at room temperature, so joints should be fitted and clamped before mixing the hardener in.

- Dry-fit the pieces and confirm the joint, repair area or seam is clean, dry and free of dust.
- Have clamps, cauls or supports ready before mixing — gel time is 3–4 minutes.
- Mix in 1–3% BPO paste hardener by weight, working quickly and thoroughly.
- Apply the paste to the joint or repair area and assemble or fill immediately.
- Hold the assembly in position until the adhesive sets; cure to handling strength takes approximately 20 minutes at room temperature.
- Wear eye protection, gloves and use in a well-ventilated area — see Safety Data Sheet.
- Reseal the container tightly after each use and store below 100°F, out of direct sunlight.

What is V-Max SV-9 used for?

How much hardener do I add?
1–3% BPO paste hardener by weight. Mix only what can be used within the 3–4 minute gel window.
How long before it cures?
Approximately 20 minutes at room temperature after the hardener is mixed in.
Why is it a good fit for white or light stone?
It cures off-white and translucent with a pearlescent finish, which keeps the seam low-visibility on light-colored material.
How should it be stored?
Indoors, below 100°F, out of direct sunlight, in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area. Shelf life is one year from manufacture at room temperature.
