- Inspect jaws, pads, pivot pins, and the lifting eye for wear or cracks before use.
- Open the jaws to suit the material thickness.
- Centre the clamp on the load so the weight is balanced between the jaws.
- Take up tension slowly and confirm the jaws have gripped before lifting clear. Never exceed the rated 2,646 lb (1,200 kg).
- Move the load steadily, using tag lines for control; never stand under it.
- Set the load down fully so the clamp goes slack before releasing.
